According to our ancient sages, the number of gases in our body sums up to 49. Out of this 49, 10 are considered more important than the others, Among the top ten, five gases - Prana vayu, Apana vayu, Vyana vayu - are considered the most important.
Through prana can be compared to oxygen, It is much more than that. Prana is the universal life force, which can work through oxygen. Apana is the gas expelled through the anus (gastro-intestinal tract). It contains many gases like carbondioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, ethane, Indole, Scatole and many other identified and unidentified gases.
Vyana is the driving force, which can be compared with heart and arteries that distribute energy and it works around the navel. Samana is the balancing gas that balances apana and prana situated around the chest and the abdominal junction, probably diaphragm. Udana is the force activated around the thyroid. These are the five most important gases (vayus) regulating the thyroid function.
There is also a nagan vayu, which is the real thyroid force - the force present in the nagan(Cobra). While kurman governs the eye, Girigaran governs the force of the ear.
Dananjeyam and Devadathan which work during the and stage of life.
Dr Mahendran, Thyroid Centre, is a well-known doctor and in this piece, he tells us that the balance of these dasa vayus(10 vayus) are meticulously regulated by our saints thousands of years ago. They can be regulated through oral medicines, food substitutes like rice porridge(kanji), external application, yogic exercises, breathing practices (pranayama) and varma therapy. Varmology is an ancient system, which was taken to China and then Japan and documented as acupuncture. Only a few percentage of total varma is handled by acupuncture. In varmology, a single varma point is handled in 49 ways whereas in acupuncture, either it is activated and retarded or neutralized.
He adds that across India, Tamil Nadu, in particluar, has given the best treatment modalities to the world, and this is why it is called Gnana Bhoomi. Gnanam in China became Gyan then in Japan, It became Zen. Let us revive these ancient systems and practice them according to the present style, for the benefit of the present generation and future generations.
In addition to taking Eltroxin for Hypothyroidism, initial confirmation with blood test T3, T4 TSH and antibodies ATG + AMA help in treatment. Clinical knowledge is very important in treating thyroid-related problems, because most of them are in association with white patches (Vitiligo) or hyper pigmentation, rhematoid arthritis, diabetes, high and how BP and mental Illness.
