The human body is made up if a millions of cells. Each cell has got a unique function and works in harmony with other cells and tissues, organs and systems.
For instance, let us see how the vertebral column and joints are connected. The 7-neck (cervical) joints represent the seven major endocrine glands in our body – C1 – Pineal body, C2 – Pituitary, C3 – Thyroid, C4 – Thymus, C5 – Pancreas, C6 – Adrenal and C7 – Sex glands.
The thoracic vertebrae are 12 and its connection with the internal organs is as follows. T1 – Heart, T2 – Lungs, T3 – Spleen, T4 – Pancreas, T5 – Liver, T6- Kidneys, T7 – Small Intestine, T8 – Large Intestine, T9 – Stomach, T10 – Duodenum, T11 – Gall Bladder, T12 – Urinary Bladder.
The lumbar vertebrae are five. They represent five major systems. L1 – Nervous System, L2 – Respiratory System, L3 – Cardio-vascular system, L4 – Gastro-intestinal system, L5 – Excretory System.
(Hip bones) Sacrum is S1, 2, 3 and 4. They are almost united. This represents the locomotor system (bones & joints). Tail Bone is coccyx.
Cx1 = Skin System
Cx2 = Sensory Organs System (nervous)
Cx3 = Immune System ( resistence system)
The seven joints in the wrist indicate seven major endocrine glands, mentioned earlier. The 14 smaller joints present in the fingers and toes work in association with the following organs.
In addition to taking Eltroxin for Hypothyroidism, initial confirmation with blood test T3, T4 TSH and antibodies ATG + AMA help in treatment. Clinical knowledge is very important in treating thyroid-related problems, because most of them are in association with white patches (Vitiligo) or hyper pigmentation, rhematoid arthritis, diabetes, high and how BP and mental Illness.
Index finger = heart, lungs, brain
Middle finger = spleen, kidney, liver
Ring finger = stomach, urinary bladder and gall bladder
Small finger = small intestine, large intestine and spinal cord
Big toes = governing system and generative system
Now comes the bigger joints of the upper limb
Right shoulder = lungs, elbow, liver;
Right wrist = spleen
Lower limb joints
Right hip = large intestine,
Right knee = gall bladder
Right ankle = urinary bladder
Left hip = small intestine
Left knee = duodenum
Left ankle = stomach
The joint between the head and neck (cl) is brain. The joint between neck and thorax c7 – T1 is spinal cord.
If joints are moved and practiced along with pranayama, the benefit is multiple. In addition to doing T3, T4, TSH, ATG, AMA blood test and consuming thyroid medication for thyroid problems, the above mentioned joint movements, give extra helping hands.
